Gottschalk's The Banjo

I like this piece, but more as an encore or something like than a real concert piece.  How do you like it?

I studied with an artist-teacher who programmed The Banjo as part of one of his recitals.  It was very well received.  I don't discount  the fact, however, that it might also make an fine encore.
Interpreting music means exploring the promise of the potential of possibilities.
