If you have a firewall, then it can be troublesome. try turning it off while you are opening the site. Also, get the latest version of the windows media player.

* Open you Windows Media Player
* Open the File menu and uncheck the Work Offline option right there

Hello,

  supposing you have windows media player 9 installed and windows 2000/xp, and don't have a firewall that is blocking connections, try this:

  - Open windows media player
  - Go to Tools->Options menu
  - Go to Network tab and uncheck multicast and UDP and check TCP and HTTP.
  - Make sure in the streaming proxy settings you have none for HTTP MMS and RSTP (unless you really have a proxy).

  Push Ok, close media player and reload the browser.

  That worked for me. :)
