gift code- can it be used for a monthly subscription?

I just received the $10.00 gift code to PS, which I would like to thank you for. Very generous.

However, I'd like to use it toward 3 months instead of an entire year. Is this possible, or is it basically a discount for a year's worth of subscriptions?

I tried putting it in and it doesn't seem to work.

The gift code has been sent to those of you who have been Silver or Gold members at Piano Street during our first year online. The code can only be used when renewing or upgrading to a one year Gold Membership and is more of a discount as you mentioned. We are glad that you appreciated it and hope that you take your chance to use it.

Yes, that is correct.

Our current special offer is valid until 31 March. If you already are a Gold member and use the code to renew for another year your membership will be extended with one year from the date when your current memberhip expires.
