Digital Recording Equipment
on: July 04, 2006, 03:27:07 PM
Hi Everyone,

Just joined (although have been reading, learning and enjoying for a while).

I'm seeking advice on portable digital recording equipment to use for recording half-hour to hour+  piano lessons.  Preferably something small, uncomplicated, turn on a switch and record, good playback sound quality, and capability of transferring and storing those files on my hard drive.  Do I really need to use an external mic?  Is there such a unit made these days?  What are you guys using?  Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Personally I use a Mini-Disc for a portable recorder:

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach
