Yes, Bach was married twice. And most of Bach's children died shortly after they were born.

It is rather well known   Apparently, so I'm told, Wilhelm Freidman was the msot talented of the youngsters - I haven't heard any of his stuff, so i can't offer an opinion.

I didn't know Papa Bach spent time in jail though.

Saw it on a doco, apparently he was a a bit of a rebel when he was a teenager - I don't remember the exact details of why he got locked up.

i didn't know he had an adopted son who died - plus taking care of all his own.  whew.  that's a lot of children.  looks like almost one a year.
