Tremolos and trills
on: June 21, 2007, 11:22:22 PM
I'm working on Moonlight mv 3. It has some trills and ornaments, e.g., bar 30 and bar 125, in the right hand while the left hand is beavering away at Alberti bass quads at semiquaver speed.

The trills end with grace notes that are marked in the script as being in semiquaver time. I think they are appogiatura (not acciacatura as I erroneously posted earlier). E.g.

Left:: E-F-C-F  D-B-F-B  each a group of four semiquavers

Right:: Trill A for a quarter note then G-A ornament onto a B.

So does the trill last the whole quarter, then the grace notes are in time with the lower hand, or should I try to do the grace notes faster?

Thanks, John
