Okay, now it has finally downloaded on the 5th attempt.  :o

This is impeccably conceived structurally. It is polished, clean, reserved, maybe conservative...but very operatic, and dramatic in an operatic sense - recitatives are fiery and explosive without distracting from the very expressive and thoughtfully phrased arias. Wondrous care has been applied to detail and structural integrity...the Italian influence (or intention) is very well in place. On the whole, it comes across a little bit objective and introverted compared to what's common, but this is refreshing and very appropriate considering what it is. You've treated the piece with great respect, and one can only respect you for that (as Barenboim would and Arrau would have.) EXCELLENT PEDALLING THROUGHOUT!

Phenomenal job! :)

(And the recording sounds great.)

Hi viking,

Bravo!  Although your rendition might be a bit conservative, that is well offset by the wonderful clarity and expressiveness in your playing, as you give us the Inferno, Purgatory and Paradise.  I thoroughly enjoyed your rendition.  The quality of the recording is very high as well.  Congratulations on this fine performance!

What stands out to me is your presentation of the piece.  Your playing has weight and presence, which you can feel even in your silences.  You have renewed my interest and appreciation for this piece which I had discarded for a long time.  I don't know how much time you spent on the cohesiveness, but it is so much so that it sounds natural.  Thank you for sharing, Viking, it's superb!

This was certainly one of the most majestic presentation of the work I have heard in a long time. I just wanted to add my thanks to the list of admirers for a fine treat!

What other works are in your present (planned) repertoire, if I may ask?

Thanks for the coments :)

Although it was fun it's time to put the piece away ...

One of my favourite Liszt pieces. I thoroughly enjoyed the performance; it was both lyrical and dramatic. Brave of you to play the second last page without pedal - it's treacherous and I've heard a few people hide behind the pedal here. Once again, excellent work.

Albeniz Triana
Scriabin Sonata No.9
Eckhardt-Grammate Caprice No.4
Kapustin Etude (not sure yet which one)
