Waldstein 1st mvt. or Appasionata 3rd. mvt?
on: July 23, 2010, 03:02:30 PM
I'm preparing for a competition, and I have all my pieces except for one. I would like to do the Waldstein's first movement or the Appasionata's last movement. Can anyone help me choose?

What other pieces do you play?

I'm a sophomore in high school.

Beethoven: Sonata No 26, I, II, III
Bach: Italian Concerto III
Chopin: Etude Op. 25 No. 12
Beethoven: Six Variations, Op. 74
Liszt: Grand Etude No. 1 in g minor

And a duo: Chopin-Variations.

Well, if you can play all three movements of Les Adieux, go for either one you like the best. ;D

The Apassionata would make a great finale piece.

But the waldstein has a wider arangement. It gives the listeners some rest on the ears. :)
