Chopin "Revolutionary" etude jazz version
on: February 06, 2012, 05:14:53 PM
Hi from Czech Republic!

Iīve just registered here and itīs my first topic Iīve created. Iīm a student at Music Academy in Prague focusing on classical piano. But I love to improvise, play jazz, compose and enjoy music more freely than just playing pieces from score. A few weeks ago I started uploading some my videos on youtube and I will appreciate any your feedback.

This is my improvisation on Chopinīs Etude op.10 no.12 performed at my graduation concert at conservatory. Enjoy:)

This is the coolest improvisation I've seen in this board. Nice to hear something familiar but different for a change. Sometimes I experience a burnout from hearing my favourite pieces over and over again. MAAAAAAD.

Funny? How? How am I funny?

That's really, REALLY good :). Have you arranged it, improvised it on the spot or a mix of the two?

Please post more of your work!

Start the video he posted here and then click on it while it is playing.

Presto, you are on his channel.

To say this is good is an understatement.   8)

You need to share more of your stuff here!
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

Hi Michal!
I am studying master in music education in Hong Kong and I am planning to do a jazz recital. Then I bump into this amusing playing of Chopin étude!!

This recital at my school will invite teachers and students to watch it. Would you mind me playing this version as you did? And if it okay for you, would you mind sharing a hard copy of your improvised version?

Great great thanks for your help!
