I wouldn't be surprised if a few posters on that thread were the same person.

Look what I found...

I've thought that about music, esp. general music.  Possibly band too.  Someone who does a lot of praise could probably get away with being a teacher despite not knowing anything about music.  General music?  Pop a CD in, have kids sing. Band?  Just go through the method book.  If it's a bigger school district, and a teacher only had kids for a year or two... I could see someone slipping by, even being praised for their teaching. Praise the students, be a people person and make everyone happy...  Survive and no one really notices no teaching was going on.

Won't let me post...

Another good point -- Why are colleges adjusting things to those student evaluations of teachers that do every semester?

Ah. I see more now.  Thanks for the translation. I didn't want to read through all that.

This Sokal thing is interesting.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sokal_affair
But it looks like that was just trying to get bogus papers published journals.

I suppose the same thing could be going on here -- A thread that's purposely confusing. Or even a poster personality who's purposely confusing.  It's still generating activity in the forum.

I tried writing in the style but my brain grinds to a halt fairly quickly.  It screams out for the need for a point.  Then it stops giving me words.

Well that was easy to understand.

Look what I found...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fictitious_entry
"The first printing of the 1980 New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians contains two fictitious entries: on Guglielmo Baldini, a non-existent Italian composer, and Dag Henrik Esrum-Hellerup, who purportedly composed a small amount of music for flute. Esrum-Hellerup's surname derives from a Danish village and a suburb in Copenhagen. The two entries were removed from later editions, as well as from later printings of the 1980 edition.

In August 2005, The New Oxford American Dictionary gained media coverage[2] when it was leaked that the second edition contained at least one fictional entry. This later was determined to be the word esquivalience, defined as "the wilful avoidance of one's official responsibilities," which had been added to the edition published in 2001. It was intended as a copyright trap, as the text of the book was distributed electronically and thus very easy to copy."

They put fake entries in reference works to detect copyright infringement. And there's some in music reference books.

Just dawned on me...  I read someone's writing, got uber-confused after the first lines, curled up into a ball and cried (in a manly way), and made a thread about it.

haha, Bib, I was not in a ball!   And I wasn't "confused" about his writing, I was frustrated about my mind :p, and related matters.   I don't expect many people to understand, but that's not my fault.

Rameau's not here to defend himself.

But if he was, he'd be using French.
