I found the rhythm was a bit unclear. Do you practice it with the music in front of you?

You mean the sheets?

Not actually because since my sight reading is not good enough and I have good memorization, I was able to memorize the piece without much trouble.

And do you mean the overall rhythm or specific parts?

I mean overall. The rhythm seems vague overall, as though you aren't really sure of precisely what Debussy wrote in the music.

Now that you have it memorized, I recommend you take some time and play it with the score in front of you, making an effort to look at the music rather than at your hands.

You may have to go a bit slower than you are used to playing it at first! This is okay! Doing so will really help you to make a more subtle interpretation!

You should also play the rest of the suite! The other movements are absolutely stunning!

Wow, you made me confused now, haha.

What needs to be worked on the rhythm? Be more linear? Play more rubato?

Sorry for all the questions, but I gotta get this piece ready in a few weeks, and it needs to be as good as it can be.

Ready in a few weeks for what?

Realistically, it probably already is as good as it's going to get in that space of time.

How long have you been working on it for?

There will be a music festival in my college. People will be playing instruments and things. It's my girlfriends' favorite piece, but I "just started" learning it since I was busy with other pieces. I've been working on it for 2-3 weeks.

Just make sure you really understand what is going on rhythmically when you play, and you aren't just playing the right notes, but fudging things slightly rhythmically.

But aside from that, you think it's sounding ok?

Yeah it's sounding pretty good! There were a couple of wrong notes that sounded like you were unaware of. Practice is carefully with the music and make sure you are playing all of the correct notes!
