Chopin's scores in different editions
on: June 25, 2015, 02:59:11 AM

Hey everyone,

I found this little article in scans:

https://www.mangareader.net/piano-no-mori/156/23

It is from the manga "Piano no Mori", and it is very interesting.

Could you tell me what is your opinion after reading it?, what do you think about it?

Do you think it is true what they are saying about the editions and the ones they want in the Chopin Competition?, do you think that Paderewski can be allowed to be used by the competitors?

Perfectly true.

To add to the confusion (and missing from the article) - when Chopin got the proofs back from his various publishers he corrected any perceived errors, and also made some changes to pieces. Unfortunately, the changes he made are frequently completely inconsistent.
