Which hand to play?
on: August 17, 2015, 05:06:17 AM
I'm confused on how to play measures 22-25 of the im legendenton movement of Schumann's C Major Fantasy.  If a bass clef note is connected by a beam to a note in the treble region, is this note to be played by the right hand (as if it's in the treble) or is the beam just used to show the proper phrasing?  Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I don't know this piece, helpful non-related tip for you firstly would be when posting regarding pieces of music try getting a picture or screenshot of the part you are referring too, you will get a lot more responses from people that do not have to go and look for the piece then if they do not know it.

Hope that helps.

Just experiment and see which hand does a better job, the sheet music, to paraphrase Thalbergmad, is a guide not an absolute.
