AJ Long - Prelude in A Minor

This is probably the simplest Prelude I've written so far. Hope you enjoy! Sheet music can be downloaded by clicking the link below. Thanks so much for your support!

You say it is 'the simplest' you've written.. Certainly it is an elegant simplicity beautifully drawn..
A haunting quality.. very nice.. I like the contrasting tonality (g#minor..?) of the last descending run of the right hand… a striking gesture before the close…
Thanks for posting   :)

Thank you very much! Yes that last descending scale was G# minor. Glad you enjoyed. Keep up the good work yourself!

wow...  that was GREAT.   It has such a feeling to it--kind of lonely--melancholy   (such a great word--so rarely do we have reason to use it)..

the simplicity is beautiful

it takes a very mature musician--not old just experienced-- to write something like that--often we think more notes played faster makes great music...  it's rare to see someone who is so confident in their abilities that they can  write something like this and make it work. I love your use of the #11--that's really cool...  sometimes a passing tone--sometimes a melody tone...it ties it all together so nicely.

you definitely deserved to be mentioned as one of the best pianists here.    ;D

Wow thank you so much for your wonderful comment! That made my day.

I just call 'em like I see 'em--- or rather, like I hear them..  ;D and you are welcome!  I really love listening to the original compositions...  IMO that's where the true musician resides.  I want to hear more from you!
