I wonder if the keys are lighter.  Dang....

The piano's kind of got a nice toyish (bright?) sound.

Wow that is amazing, so playful and bright.

I suggest you listen to Olof Hansen's rendition too. It is exquisite.

tbh it's competent but still kinda meh (sorry) some people played it pretty amazingly at the Chopin competition and qualifier. e.g. AJ's teacher Josh Wright...!!!The recording quality may have to do with it though.

I wonder where he's gone...

That's an Estonia grand, I have tried them and they are really nice to play...not that it is the reason that he plays well :)

If you are talking about this recording

I think he was going a bit too fast for me  :P
It's amazing that he can play so light at such a pace, though.
Umi Garrett plays this amazingly, also.

On the whole piano forum you put this in "Anything but piano." That's like jumping in a pool and missing.

I knew numnuts like you would come rushing in to pollute the discourse, so I protected the piano sections of the forum by posting it here.

I've tried and tried, but darn it, I just can't hear any lyrics. Oh, wait, maybe you meant piece, not "song."

It was very accurate and fast which is impressive and commendable but I can't help but think it sounded dead and lifeless almost like a midi!!

+1

P.S. I wonder if a classical musician would get annoyed if I called Mendelssohn's Lied Ohne Worte "songs".  ;D
