A Jazz Piano Christmas 2025 – But not at the Kennedy Center

For more than three decades, “A Jazz Piano Christmas” at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. has been a quiet highlight of the holiday season for jazz and piano lovers. The metronome had not yet been invented in Mozart’s lifetime. So any metronome suggestion is just that – a suggestion.

I do not have the London Book, but I do have a collection of pieces from it, edited by Howard Ferguson for the ABRSM (“Mozart: 25 Early pieces”). If the piece you are referring to is the Menuet in Bb (in my book it is K15 pp), then the suggestion is crochet (quarter note) = 120.

I hope this helps.

Best wishes,
Bernhard
