Clementi Op.24 No.2 and Op.47 No.2 confusion
on: May 19, 2016, 09:52:40 AM
Hi.

Does anyone have any idea about this?
I am choosing pieces for my Grade 8 where it states Clementi Sonata Op.47 No.2 as a choice.

But this piece seems to be a cappriccio, in 3 movements in C Major.
Some checking states that the Op.24 No.2 sonata in B flat Major is sometimes erroneously listed as Op.47 No.2 and several recordings list this piece as Op.24 No.2 (Op.41/Op.47).

This is pretty confusing so I am wondering why this is so, as well as which piece is grade 8 level. I have not yet looked at all the sheet music or gotten clarity from the examinators.
