About Edvard Grieg's 2 Valse-Caprices (four hands)
The Waltz-Caprices were originally written for piano duet in 1883. A few years later Grieg arranged the pieces for solo piano. These pieces are among Grieg's least known works. Even in his native country they suffer from relative neglect, perhaps because they contain little that is typically Norwegian. But many Grieg aficionados outside Norway have pointed out their elegance, warmth of expression, and unusual harmonic progressions.
