At the moment i have my tounge, eyebrow and labret (underneath bottom lip) pierced.. used to have a nipple ring and 2 belly button rings too. I'm interested to see if any other classical pianists/musicians have any cool body piercings because i haven't really come accross many..

If you don't make it as a pianist, you could become a watering can.

i'd never get piercings. it's a disadvantage in a fight. remember Jet Li in Cradle 2 the Grave? when/if i get in a fight, i'll go ahead and rip it off.  ;D

just for fun. but that's just me.

For a moment there, I thought you were going to confess to a "Prince Albert" :o ;D

Piercing is a pirate thing. It was a way to ensure they would still have some gold on them in case of shipwreck.

Piercing is a pirate thing. It was a way to ensure they would still have some gold on them in case of shipwreck.

Just so you all can get prepared, Sept 19th is Talk Like a Pirate Day!

You can brush up on your skills here:

https://www.talklikeapirate.com/howto.html

A Sample:

The basics

Pirate lingo is rich and complicated, sort of like a good stew. There are several other sites that offer glossaries that are pretty good, and you can find some of them on our links page.

But if you just want a quick fix, a surface gloss, a "pirate patina," if you will, here are the five basic words that you cannot live without. Master them, and you can face Talk Like a Pirate Day with a smile on your face and a parrot on your shoulder, if that's your thing.

Ahoy! - "Hello!"

Avast! - Stop and give attention. It can be used in a sense of surprise, "Whoa! Get a load of that!" which today makes it more of a "Check it out" or "No way!" or "Get off!"

Aye! - "Why yes, I agree most heartily with everything you just said or did."

Aye aye! - "I'll get right on that sir, as soon as my break is over."

Arrr! - This one is often confused with arrrgh, which is of course the sound you make when you sit on a belaying pin. "Arrr!" can mean, variously, "yes," "I agree," "I'm happy," "I'm enjoying this beer," "My team is going to win it all," "I saw that television show, it sucked!" and "That was a clever remark you or I just made." And those are just a few of the myriad possibilities of Arrr!

Okay, here we go... I feel a little odd sharing this, but apparently I will anyway :

There was a time (back in my gypsy days) when I had 6 piercings in my left ear and 5 in my right.

I had a belly button ring and kept that around for about 2 weeks.

I have in the past, considered various other piercings... heh, however I grew out of those fantasies before I took any action.  My tattoo fantasies seem to have just frozen in time as well, without me taking action.  Ah well.

I currently have only one piercing in each ear.  Now I am finally "normal"  ;D

I also have a hole in each ear, but no piercings.   (Bob is pure and unpierced and painfree that way.)

I pierced my own belly button and kept that around for about 2 weeks (only a scar now).

I started piercing my own nose, but that was after my belly button and I could only handle so much.
How can you do it? I think it is impossible to pierce a hole by yourselves.
I would like to have a belly button piercing. But, will it recover perfectly without a scar?

no piercings, i just dont like them, nor the idea of them in general.

i abhor the idea of body modification....although i know thats easy for me to say with my perfect body and all...

yeah you can pierce it yourself. You get ice and numb the area then stab it with a needle. Simple as that.

No, and if it gets infected because of not-too-sterile technique, the scar will be really ugly. Any hole you make in  your body leaves a scar - the only question is how big and how noticeable.  :o

how do people blow their noses with a nose piercing?  i saw a rather attractive young girl with a diamond stud nose ring, but i sort of wondered if (as george said) there would be tendency to get infection in the nose area?  probably not, if you cleanse it regularly with the antiseptic they give you.

i think belly button wouldn't.  but, as george said, better to go get it professionally done.  what if your belly button ring caught on your jeans or something.  yank.  yowza!

stevie will never know all the pain.  neither will i.  i only have my ears pierced.  once in each ear.

a neighbor back in calif. had a stud in her tongue.  i kinda wondered about that one, too.  does it really add to appeal, or does it make your tongue freeze in the winter?

the only jobs that seem to have people with a lot of tattoos and/or piercings seem to be clothing designers and hairdressers.

Well, first of all, why would you do it yourself when there are plenty of professionals who would do it for you ?  It is most likely a lot less painful too.  I was honestly just being quite stupid, to be blunt, and would never recommend doing it yourself for several reasons but most of which is because it can indeed get infected and so on.

Mine did not get infected, btw, and the scar is barely noticeable by anyone but me.  No more details !

But still, I DO NOT recommend doing it yourself unless you are trained appropriately (I should take that part off of my post).
