Please don't all say Perahia. Only recordings of the complete set. If i forgot some, put em down.
-
Didn't Rubinstein record the complete set? I thought he'd recorded Chopin's entire works. Or something...
I might be talking rubbish about Rubinstein, but Boris Berezovsky has recorded the complete Etudes and it's one of my favourites.

No He did - and I have them.

Pff, I really have never heard a really perfect set.
But then again I also prefer the Godowsky studies. The originals sound so naked and bare in comparison.

Thats what i thought, btw Rubenstine plays the best 10/4. :o
-
Rubinstein avoided the etudes because he did not feel comfortable with the technical demands.

I doubt that very much.

I agree, they are so poeticaly and musically playd that it is hard to believe that he spent all that time training his fingers only.
