Well, I wanted to get a performance of this beautiful piece, and all I found was a sh*tty performance by Glenn Gould (I'm sorry, anything but Bach sounds horrible by his performance!).
Anyway, does anyone have a GOOD performance of the sonata?
I'll appreciate comments.
p.s.
Is it just me, or Grieg isn't much appreciated in this forum? I think it's a great composer with great music. (:

Peter Katin's 'A Grieg Recital'. By far the best I've heard. It's on Olympia records, and it includes the Sonata Op.7, selected Lyric Pieces (March of the Dwarfs, Notturno, Wedding Day at Troldhaugen) and the Ballade in G minor Op.24, plus some others. He's truly a great Grieg interpreter. And yes, Grieg is under-appreciated here, and YES, his works are amazing!

I love this sonata. It's one of the pieces that I learned as a kid - well at least the 1st two movements, and now as an adult, I'm bringing it back. Worked on the 3rd movement last night, and read through the fourth.
Anyhow, Lief Andnses has a performance of this sonata that is stunning in terms of virtuosity. It's a bit too fast for my taste, but that's probably because of the fact that I have a slower performance (my own!) in mind for the last 30 years!
