Title: something to laugh at: my version of scarlatti in C
Post by: crazy for ivan moravec on November 04, 2005, 05:19:59 PM
i was always nervous when playing this piece. in my recital, this was paired with the fm that i posted a few weeks ago. i rattled in the first page, which caused my loss of concentration...

the form of the piece is not what it is as u hear it in this recording. i skipped a page! hahaha!
i was really hesitant about posting. one of the forumites here even asked for the other pair that i myself  mentioned. so here it is!

enjoy. comments are most welcome!

I really liked it. I mean, it abviously would have helped if you had not skipped a page, but I loved the energy in it. I really like your playing in general. What are the K. numbers of these sonatas (this one and the previous one)?

Not bad at all. I like your energy and vivaciousness in your playing. The wrong notes in the first page was a bit distracting but it went smooth from there. It would have been much better if you played the complete piece though.

Good job!

Wow. Congratulations. Your playing is a little shy, but you have an absolutely wonderful sound and style for this piece, it really sounds like Scarlatti. I like it very much, very beautiful. More courage. :)

 :D :D :D :D

Gorgeous!

I only heard the Sonata in C though, should there have been another one?

I learnt this sonata (the one in C) some time ago but it never sounded anything like yours  :-[  I am inspired to relearn it now.  Any tips?  :)

thanks, yamaha! here's the other sonata from this thread:

https://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php/topic,13199.0.html

try just the right amount of pedal (depending on the acoustics of the hall), constantly thinking of pulse and rhythm, and light touch (i use plucking almost all the time), and also watch out for unwanted accents.:) don't know, hehe, that's what i dealt with most of the time.

all the best to you on relearning it. tell us about it, or you can post it too.:)
