Title: Shostakovich - piano concerto no. 2
Post by: zemos on February 08, 2006, 10:51:45 PM
Well, I'm dying to know how hard that concerto really is, maby I could learn it...? :)

However, I just need the notes first(...), and I can't find them anywhere! :/ So it's a sheet request for the Shostakovich piano concerto no. 2 in F (op. 102), if someone has it or can advise me where to get it, I'll be greatful.

It's a wonderful concerto (especially the first part), in my opinion, and It doesn't sounds VERY hard.
what do you think?
I don't know why, but somehow I get the feeling that shostakovich's being underestimated here in the forum... Personally I love him and his writing, He's great! (:

BTW, my E-mail is:        the_zemos@yahoo.com
I'll appriciate it so much if someone would reply to me possitively about this.

Enjoy the rest of the week,
Tom.

A very good pianist who I have very little respect for as a human being said the Shosta concerto's are on the easy side of the repertoire list.  He said one could learn the concerto in a day.
That being said, it has some tricky bits - i've glanced at the score.  but it shouldn't be too hard.
