Title: Schubert Impromptu Op.90 No.2 Story
Post by: xhunterjx on May 05, 2006, 11:24:10 PM
Does anyone know the story behind this piece?  Such as what was going on during Schuberts life at that time, or mebbe what it might be about?

Schubert wrote his impromptus for his  bohemian parties also knew as "Schubertiadas".

No 2 in Eb is such a brillaint poece. I love it ¡¡

It is a fantastic piece and it can really wow people as well. There is a bit of difficulty in playing the triplets evenly throughout IMO.

I am not sure if there is a story behind the piece at all, I have never heard anything of one. For a piece like this I like to imagine my own story though.

yeah, I can't imagine there being a story behind it.

For me, I found the difficuty of this impressive piece in maintaining enough energy for the coda, especially on pianos with relatively heavy keys.  Really, eveness in this piece is not too bad, as long as you practice slowly (i have performed this piece many times, once at superhuman speed on a lightweight keyboard ;D).
