Title: VIDEO: Bach Prelude and Fugue from WTCII

I am only practicing it; I did not complete working on it with my teacher.

Fantastic video, congrats!

But I must admit, I kind of wish I hadnt watched that... Im 24 and cant play that well! ;D

I have never heard about Queen Elizabeth's contest. What is that? Actually, I don't compete in music -- and neither did Gould. I am a Gould fan too.

People get so caught up in trying to "prove" themselves instead of just accepting that they can only do their best, and it doesn't matter if their best is better than someone else's. Music is for sharing, not comparing.

Also, great to hear you don't compete in music, I respect that. I really like this comment of Serg Van Gennip about competing: "Music will never be a sport in which the creations of us interpreters can be compared"

Post by: steveie986 on May 22, 2006, 10:55:38 PM: You are very talented. It's great for children to play lots of Bach. Too many kids saturate themselves with Chopin (and play it poorly) and ruin their technique before it's properly formed.
