Those machines have insane power. How loud was it from such a distance?

You did lose the Shuttle the moment the booster rockets got dropped off, right?

Yeah, the video doesn't come close to doing it justice. prometheus, it wasn't loud at all at the initial liftoff (due to being so far away), but at around 1:22 as you can hear from the clip you start to hear the extreme low frequency booming, which got louder and louder for about the next 60 seconds. You can sort of hear this on the tape, but in person you really "feel" it.
