what part of california? im in los angeles.
-
You could always take a break or focus on music you really enjoy more.
-
I'm assuming you want us to say:
"OH MY GOD NO DON'T QUIT THAT WOULD BE THE WORST THING YOU COULD DO."
Sympathy? Pathetique.
-
Seriously, don't quit.
-
Do what makes you happy in the long run. If playing piano dosent make you happy then quit, if your just going through a bad time then stick with it.
-
did you say 'music tour.' are you performing at a series of places. did one recital not go as planned? everyone says that. you're not the only one. but, rarely do others hear the same mistakes that you think are glaring. or, feel the boringness of having practiced something a thousand times.
where in california? don't quit piano. it's not that bad. the piano and voice would go well together, though. do both!
-
First, teach me all you know.
-
meh i'm quitting too. heh

i don't want sympathy! if people lwould give sympathy where it is needed and didn't get it where it isn't needed you would get stronger people that would learn to "pull themselves up by the boot strapes". so keep you so called smypathy.
yes i am on a music tour. i just seemed to have lost m touch on the piano. i have been watching it go down the tubes for the past few months. i love the piano but it makes my sick to not been able to play like i did. so i QUIT.
barnowl, if you want lessons i'll give you some. i didn't take 13 years of lessons for nothing. i could teach you something.
liszt, thank you for your suggestion. yours was the most helpful. i am going to take my singing career go to the highest degree. :)

What do you mean by "loosing touch"?. Maybe it is because of too much expectation on your behalf? Try taking a break. Or maybe it is because you haven't practiced as hard as you should have. ;)

Why have you lost your touch on the piano, why's it going down the tubes? Obvious next question, are you practicing, and how are you practicing? Are you on tour a lot? It's hard to practice on tour, you're always playing and it's easy to get stick in a rut Maybe you just need a change of habit or scene or a break. Maybe you won't play like you did. Maybe it'll be better.
I don't play like I did 15 months ago, my playing has changed drastically. It's very different now, I'm still not used ot it, but I and others who know me think it's better. The period of adjustment is coming to an end, and I feel I know what I'm doing again. Of course, this involved hard work of a kind I was not used to. It was difficult but worth it. I guess it depends on wether you want to put the work in or not. Of course it's hard to tell what your problem is without more detailed info about why your playing is "going down the tubes"....

i can't play like i did. i suck now at playing. that's what i meant.
-
Now, did you really quit the piano, Path? Just curious. ;)
