I have just started reading this book and it really has opened my eyes about piano technique. I used to think that hours of Hanon was a good thing and that feeling a burning pain in my foreman was all for the better. I used to think Independence of the fingers was possible and could only be achieved by hours of Hanon. Now I understand that its not Indedepence of the fingers but Interdepence. Its all about cordonation. Learning how to use the bigger muscles to help out the smaller ones. After reading the chapter on scales and learning about the structure of the hand and forearm and how the muscles work I have had my eyes opened. Has anyone read this book? What are your thoughts about it?
Thanks,
Jerry

Take it with a grain of salt.
It would be one thing if the book were written by Gilels (random example), but Sandor, as much as he was around and as much as his career flourished, never got his technique to a very high level.
Even if GIlels wrote a book on technique...take it with a grain of salt. Besides, overthinking your technique for too long (having thoughts on it is a different thing) will not help you.
