Title: Famous pianists on this forum
Post by: franz_ on August 06, 2006, 12:31:33 PM
I was thinking. We are all pianist, or most of us, some of us or even professional. But no one is world famous. So I thought, may be Kissin is on this forum, or Volodos or Lugansky.
Would be a funy situation, that we are critisizing pianiste here, and one of the greatest pianists on earth is chatting with us.

Johnathan Powell and Ian Pace are members, albeit infrequent posters.

I have a feeling maybe one will become famous. Hopefully more.

Pardon me.  I was referring to the post topic: "Famous pianists..."

Jonathan Powell and Ian Pace have careers, and are professional, but they are not famous, like Kissen and Volodos.

I might not be as naive as you think, actually.

Well you know, thats the thing about classical piano music, you dont need to be famous or rich. All you need is a piano, some talent and a teacher.
I've been on this forum for almost a year and only 2 pianists seem to have the ability but are not world famous like Kissin or Lang Lang.  8)

But even Kissin or Lang Lang can walk in the street without beeing recognised. Today, who is interest in classical music?
By the way, isn't Koji a fulltime professional either?

I'd defy Kissen to walk down the street in NY and not be accosted.
