There is a lot of foul language on this forum and I might have to stop visiting because of it. Could you please set up a censor for this or perhaps make it a rule to not swear? Thank you very much.

There already are censors, like b i t c h becomes pregnant dog etc. There is almost no swearing at this forum.
-
There's a ton of it around here. They just evade the censors.
Please put up a sticky to remind everyone. And then I'll report swearing posts.

I don't agree at all. Swear words are just words. If they aren't directed at you personally, you can only be offended by them by wanting to be offended by them. They're a part of everyday speech for many people (some more than others) and they aren't necessarily meant aggressively or offensively, so unless you wrap your ears in cotton wool you're gonna hear them, like it or not!
If people are using really filthy words (and no, there are no set-in-stone rules here but we all know what they are), then you could be justified in complaining. But I haven't seen any of that here. This is the internet and, more importantly, this is a piano site, not a kids' site. I don't doubt kids look at this site but from what I can tell, more of those who post at least seem to be 16+.
You may not personally like swearwords, but that doesn't mean that the people who post hear are being excessive or unreasonable in their use of them. If you hate them that much just avert the eyes and read on. :)

remember, a lot of forumers are kinda young. i tell my son when he says that - that there is nothing holy about crap. he stops for an hour. then, i leave and come back and he's saying it to his computer game buddies. i think they learn it while gaming. i never said it at home (or away). of course, the standard s word is getting routed out of my vocab. occasioanlly i get very mad and say it - and then think - why did i say that? it doesn't solve any problems. and, the bible says (yes roll your eyes) 'don't let evil communication' or communication that isn't helpful - come out of your mouth.

It could also have a bad effect on personality and character, even music does that, according to Plato. The music you listen to should be tuned to make the listener turn his mind to a certain strain of thoughts, and this decides much of a person'c character, so says he. After all, christianism is largely based on greek philosophy , although that's also a generalisation...

OMG.
Can't you all just be glad I didn't type in "HOLY MOTHER-F***ING S***!!!"
I agree that rude language should be curbed to rule out the nastiet of the nastiest, but seriously- I haven't met a 7-year-old yet that can't say 'Holy Crap'.

nope, but there is more sex and violence in there than most people realize. what are people gonna start doing now? ripping out those pages from the bible? censorship should just be abolished. and btw, a lot of little kids i come across are fully aware of how to use your beloved "curse words". that said, censorship of this forum is stupid.

Are you saying that the fact that I made it holy is the problem?
If Batman and Robin could do it in 1966, then so can I.
Last I checked, there's nothing holy about sardines, missiles, twisted metal, nightmares, or the like either. Get off it.
