Hi guys
I've recently been trying to learn this piece (Liebestraum 3rd movement I think it's proper name is). I'm not someone who practices hours and hours a day like most people here, just half an hour to an hour a day.
I think I can play the whole piece quite well - except the cadenzas. I can finger the first one but it just needs work. The 2nd one completely buggers me though and I'm not sure what's the best way to tackle it.
I had a play around using thumb and middle finger for the descending right hand and it seemed all right but I'm sure it's not the best way. Just wanting some feedback really as to how people tackle this technically demanding passage.
Also is this piece too hard for me? The most recent piece I've finished learning was Brahms - Rhapsody in G minor (I think. Number 2 I think it is) which I'm guessing is past sort of grade 8 standard.
Cheers

For me, the cadenzas are far from the hard part of the piece - it's getting the really octavey and broad sections to sound powerful The first cadenza should require some practice, then becomes much easier, as with most Liszt passagework.
For the second one, consider 414142 etc., thumb on white keys and 2 on black... works like a charm.
