Post by: eyeballnick on November 04, 2006, 01:33:07 PM
Hi, im learning a piece and on a phrase i cant quite get it right, i find it easy to learn if i hear the piece played. However on a peticular part i can hear what is exacly going on, due to speed of the piece, is there anyway on media play, itunes or whatever, im willing to download programs too....anywas, a way to slow the piece down so i can hear the recording played much slower.......
           Thanks......Nick

There's a program called 'Amazing Slow Downer' (what a silly name :D). Just google it - it does exactly what you want. I've used it some time ago to transcribe songs for guitar that were much too fast.

Windows Media Player will play songs at half/double speed.  If you want more control than that you'll probably need to download additional software.  There's a free digital audio editor called Audacity that should be able to time shift in any scale.  Haven't tried doing it, but the software is excellent.
