I bought this Latin Jazz Piano book that has Chega De Saudade (ACJ) arranged sounding like a tango song. I want to learn a way to use the chord progressions and play them in a bossa nova style. Can anyone help me?
Thank you!

Bossa Nova is more rhythm than harmony. As it is usually the case with complex South American (and African) rhythms, notation is at best an approximation. The best way to proceed is to listen to a lot of CDs of Bossa Nova, and instead of following the notation on the score, use it as a general guide, but use your ears to get the rhythm.
Harmonically Bossa Nova uses lots of major and minor 7th chords, plus harmonic extensions (9ths, 11ths, 13ths).
Also, there is no need to follow some tango arrangement of “Chega de Saudade” since Jobin’s complete works have been published posthumously (in a lavish production) with his original arrangements supervised by his son, Paulo (who made many of the arrangements). It is called “Cancioneiro Tom Jobin” (Tom Jobin’s Songbook) and I am not sure if you would be able to get this outside of Brazil, but you can try this website:
https://www2.uol.com.br/tomjobim/download.htm
(you can download the score for “chega de saudade” – Jobin’s arrangement - from this site).
Best wishes,
Bernhard.

Wow, I've been using that site for an oral presentation on his biography and I haven't come across that section of the site.
Thanks B!
