Title: Best place to download a movie?
Post by: lagin on January 06, 2007, 09:54:52 PM
I live too far out of town to go rent a video, and I don't want to wait all day for one to download, either.  Do you guys know a good place to download movies that is computer friendly, eg. no spyware ect.  I don't mind paying for the download.  Doesn't Shaw have a thing where you can rent a movie and they send it to your computer?  Anyone?

Well I won't suggest anything illegal,

but if you're a fan of movies in general, use Netflix. You'll have to wait a couple days for each movie, but since you can have three at a time at home you can cycle them so that you always have a new one to watch anyways.

Services to pay-and download are in their birth stage right now, so I wouldn't recommend using them just yet.

Probably your router is bocking a necessary port.

Might also need to change to different ports as some ISP's reportedly block common sharing ports.

Try UPnP, if your router supports it.  It supposed to do that port management for you.

There are some good wiki guides out there to do your config.  Google.

But, what do I know - I is only a pianizt.   :-\

Amazon Unbox works decently, if you don't mind paying.

No I don't think anything's blocking anything.. Are there any other reasons why it doesn't wanna download? I pressed force start download (sth like that) and it started at 0/hour

Are there people sharing, or seeding, the torrent?

Look at the S for seeding number.
