ok. i'm getting ready to record on this midi. i tried the strings section with the brahms op. 118 /mozart K 332 and it sounds cool. the only thing is - the pedal slides all around the floor and i have to chase it - midstream. it is bugging me. what do people do to keep the pedal in place. duct tape? on a book?
i'm using the 'fantasy' sythesizer for the 'isle of joy.' that sounds cool too. i think instead of going top speed - i'm just going to make it a bit slower than iumonito's. it'll be two different versions of the same.

Duct tape fixes everything. :) I use clear tape for school performances so it looks nicer. But yeah, whatever holds it in place.
Maybe a mouse pad would work? It seems like those things are given away free all the time. A rubberized surface on a hard floor might work.
Some type of mat maybe?
I hate chasing those pedals around.
Or put something solid behind the pedal so it has no place to slide to.
If it's on carpetting, some kind of pin that would push into the carpet might work.
Let us know what works.
I know they do sell a more formal looking pedal box with two pedals I think. I haven't used one, but I doubt it would slide around quite as much.

I put a 25 lb dumbbell in front of it.. seems to work

hmmm. my son threw out his dumbells. i guess i'll just have to stick with the duct tape. seemed to work last night - except the keyboard started moving around then.

If I'm using a music stand, I put it inside the triangle part of the feet of the stand.
Duct tape works.
What about those rubbery pads used for shelving? So your plates don't slip around in your cupboard.
Or those non slip bathtub mats with suction cups.
Flimsy keyboard stands are a pain. Especially when playing chordal passages, the keyboard shakes so much. Try to get one that's really sturdy.

that is funny! cause I had the same problem, I'm using a digital piano and a keyboard for my students weekend performances at at art museum. I bought some placemats that have that nonslip material on them. put the placemat on the floor and the pedal on top, make sure your heel in on the placemat and it will stay in place.

thanks for the great ideas! i will try that. both the v of the music stand (when this little music holder breaks. which i'm sure it will) and the placemat idea. good thinking.
