Apparently so.

Jack Lemmon can't play the piano; he's dead.

Yes, and quite well. He was a good singer, too. Like Anthony Hopkins and Clint Eastwood, he originally intended to be a pianist but ended up an actor instead.

Everyone of their generation who was a star played piano and sang. You were supposed to be a rounded entertainer in those days.

I heard Clint play, that doco he did on the blues with Ray Charles and others was good.
Dudley Moore was really the only one that carried it into is films.

Clint's a bit clunky. But his film work as a Jazz propagandist far outweighs any pianistic shortcomings he may have. :)
Dudley Moore was an incredible pianist, it's true that a lot of his work was clowning around a la Victor Borge but he could turn around and swing with the best of them. A top flight jazzer, no question about it. 8)

Did you ever see that concerto series Dudley did? I've only got part of the Rach 2 taped, from what I remember that pianist was really good.
His guest on the muppets was hilarious - go animal!
