Hi, I'm looking for a four-hands piano piece for a recital in a couple of months. I have no idea about four-hands music and my teacher asked me to look for something that isn't "classical". I'm thinking it should be a funny peice or something different and maybe a 20th century peice.
Composers who would fit this bill that I've considered are: Rachmaninov, Gershwin, the transcendental virtuosisity of John Cage's 4'33" 4-hand arrangement,... but don't know of anything or whether they composed for 4-hands.
I'm not even sure if my teacher wants 4-hands, 1 piano or 4-hands, two piano. I don't think it would matter but I think I prefer 1 piano as it would mean practicing much easier (I think).
I don't know of anything else and any recommendations would be very helpful. This post is the reason I Googled up "piano forum".
If I don't find a peice, we'll be stuck with the standard duet pieces like Chopin's Polonaise in Eb. :P

Since there is already a thread about piano four-hand repertory here (have a look!):

I will answer it in that thread.
Also, I will assume that you are looking for advanced pieces.
Best wishes,
Bernhard.

Yes, I am kidding about the Cage piece. I have no idea how it looks but I know that you are supposed to close the keyboard lid during the transition of segments and then open it back up again.
....
Just a correction about Chopin's polanaise: I meant in A major.
...
Bernhard, I'll be looking at that thread.

See here for more information of the piece and its performance:

Also have a look at this thread where there is a funny follow up to all this:

I dislike Cage’s music intensely. I love his writings and philosophy on music.
Best wishes,
Bernhard.
