Title: Bach - WTC fingered editions
Post by: jabbz on June 17, 2007, 08:33:30 PM
Hullo, any Editions of the Well Tempered Clavier that have been fingered? I think Busoni did one and Tovey, but anything would b most appreciated! Thanks.

Since there is an Edition available here, i cannot post.

The Busoni Edition is indeed well fingered, but is it not best for a pianist to work out his own?

ahhhhhh, many, many thanks.

I have been using my own fingerings, but I've been wanting to compare them, just to check them really.

Why do you want to check your own fingerings if they work ?

I'm just curious to see how others have fingered them. When I finger I go out of my way to use my weakest fingers, purely so I can build them, so I'd like to see a more practical set of fingerings too.

but ive noticed , that in  editions be it from henle or peters there are  sometimes very clever fingering fitting  the hands nicely . Its good to compare the fingers from many editions, to derive the best possible one.
