Title: Need help identifying a symphony, lol
Post by: silyaznfoo on August 06, 2007, 06:16:45 PM
Lol, so basically I found it on my ipod and I really like it a lot, but I can't figure out who composed it. It lasts 11:49

it starts with a violin playing one high note, then a lower note. Then a rest, then a high note then a lower note again. Then some drums come in for a second, then high note then low note, and then violins slowly build toward a climax. The music is fairly loud and intense, and it seems almost like a battle.  It starts out in a minor key as well. I thought it might be by Beethoven, but I'm not sure.

Anyways, help is appreciated, lol.

Sounds like Beethoven 9th, 2nd mvt to me. Does it go D DD(octave) A AA(octave) then timp etc... ?

tempo? time signature? dynamic?
after the timpani, is there a fugue-like passage in the strings? (which would be as franzliszt2 suggested)
