Alright. I'm confused. The rythym in this piece is driving me crazy. It goes from 6/8 to 3/4 time without actually putting that if you know what I mean. THen the expressivo part is way different rythym and counting than the beginning. I don't know if I should be changing my metronome speed everytime the beat per measure change. Please help!! If you know what I mean. It's kind of hard to explain but if you have any ideas on how to help, it would be greatly appreciated! Even my piano teacher is confused!!! ???

Don't change your metronome speed when the meter changes. If you need to, set it to 6 beats for measure and play with every eighth note. You can then feel meter as ONE la li TWO la li when it's in 2, and when it changes to three, count 1 and 2 and 3 and, but your basic subdivision of 6 "beats" per measure will stay the same. The tempo also stays the same when the espressivo part comes in. The melodic line is "slowed down" by the composer because he gives longer note values. In other words, it feels slower, although your underlying 6 beats per measure will stay the same. Does that make sense?
