Post by: kayordee on February 28, 2008, 01:10:07 PM
For an upcoming piano competition I am playing up to a certain point on la campanella (bar 30) and improvising the rest and I'm REALLY stuck for ideas. So can some save me by making a suggestion in which direction I should be going with this. Thanks greatly appreciated.......Oh yeah, and i can also improvise on highly advnaced levels if you want to know what i can handle :) thnx :)

Hmm, I guess I have the wrong idea about competitions if they now encourage improvisation on well-known pieces. But I would say if you're going to do it, it better be sensational... Listen to some Liszt/Godowsky or Liszt/Horowitz/Volodos pieces for inspiration.
