-
Good point.
-
...and you aren't living in Africa with your whole family starving and dying of AIDS. So it's aight. It's all about the autosuggestion mang. Keep the positive thoughts flowing.
-
I think it's like we're living in a jungle, still fending for ourselves. It's not a fair world.

But he's asking about the overall goodness of the WORLD and of MOST PEOPLE. . . not strictly his own Fortune, so, technically. . . .
-
Allthough the overall goodness would most certainly affect my personal happiness, so on the other hand...
-
<Insert a much wittier statement here>.
Touche (forget accents :P).

Please I need it. :-[
Sorry. The world is not good and most people are not kind. Want proof?
Just observe.
-
But...but.. there´s a catch right?

But...but.. there´s a catch right?
Only if you wear pantyhose and you're running through brambles to escape the marauding hordes!
Beware, Petter! Beware!!

He's clearly concerned about his own fortune. His request was just a smokescreen.
-
I think if everything's going fine, people are generally good.
But when resources get scarce then people start forming little groups and protecting their groups over everyone. And then at some point just themself unless they've got a reason like kids not to.

Only if you wear pantyhose and you're running through brambles to escape the marauding hordes!
Beware, Petter! Beware!!
A golgatha walk, personal sacrifice for the greater good, I like it. Promise to water my flowers...*faints*

Once I was walking home in the rain drunk and some random stranger gave me a ride the rest of the way.
Actually that's happened a couple of times.
When the basement suite I lived in flooded, a friend of the landlords came in and saved my stuff from getting drenched.
Various people took the time to show me how to make a living.
I've read some books for free on project gutenberg thanks to the efforts of random strangers.
hmmmm... what else? Nobody's killed me yet.
-
be thankful i dont rule the world ;D
-
hmmmm... what else? Nobody's killed me yet.
and what's ur home address, rc....?
-
If you're trying to kill me we should do it somewhere else, I just finished organizing the bookshelf and vacuumed so I don't want to have any showdowns here... Besides, I told the landlord I wouldn't cause a ruckus.
-
He's clearly concerned about his own fortune. His request was just a smokescreen.
In that case, life's a beeyotch and then you die. I've gotten over it.

Yes!
cough cough, mi-mi-mi-mi, mo-mo-mo-mo
Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it’s breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you’ll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You’ll see the sun come shining through for you
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

Will the sun come out... tomorrow? I wonder.
Yes Bob, because if you
Look for the silver lining
When ever a cloud appears in the blue.
Remember somewhere, the sun is shining
And so the right thing to do is make it shine for you.
A heart, full of joy and gladness
Will always banish sadness and strife
So always look for the silver lining
And try to find the sunny side of life.
So always look for the silver lining
And try to find the sunny side of life
-
Mmm... What if the sun's out right now, but they're saying it's going to rain tomorrow? Is there a song about that? :)
-
well the road's out before me
and the moon is shining bright
what I want you to remember
as I disappear tonight
today is grey skies
tomorrow's tears
you'll have to wait til yesterday is here

petter, do you have any 'go-study-hard' song or 'hardly-study' song?
-
petter, do you have any 'go-study-hard' song or 'hardly-study' song?
Yes, here´s the go study hard song:
Very superstitious, writings on the wall,
Very superstitious, ladders bout to fall,
Thirteen month old baby, broke the lookin glass
Seven years of bad luck, the good things in your past.
When you believe in things that you dont understand,
Then you suffer,
Superstition aint the way
Very superstitious, wash your face and hands,
Rid me of the problem, do all that you can,
Keep me in a daydream, keep me goin strong,
You dont wanna save me, sad is my song.
When you believe in things that you dont understand,
Then you suffer,
Superstition aint the way, yeh, yeh.
And here´s the hardly study song:
Let's go surfin' now
Everybody's learning how
Come on and safari with me
(Come on and safari with...)
Early in the morning we'll be startin' out
Some honeys will be coming along
We're loading up our Woody
With our boards inside
And headin' out singing our song
Come on (surfin') baby wait and see (surfin' safari)
Yes I'm gonna (surfin') take you surfin' (surfin' safari)with me
Come along (surfin') baby wait and see (surfin' safari)
Yes I'm gonna (surfin') take you surfin' (surfin' safari)with me
Let's go surfin' now
Everybody's learning how
Come on and safari with me
(Come on and safari with...)
At Huntington and Malibu
They're shooting the pier
At Rincon they're walking the nose
We're going on safari to the islands this year
So if you're coming get ready to go
Come on (surfin') baby wait and see (surfin' safari)
Yes I'm gonna (surfin') take you surfin' (surfin' safari)with me
Come along (surfin') baby wait and see (surfin' safari)
Yes I'm gonna (surfin') take you surfin' (surfin' safari)with me
Let's go surfin' now
Everybody's learning how
Come on and safari with me
(Come on and safari with...)
They're anglin' in Laguna in Cerro Azul
They're kicking out in Dohini too
I tell you surfing's mighty wild
It's getting bigger every day
From Hawaii to the shores of Peru
Come on (surfin') baby wait and see (surfin' safari)
Yes I'm gonna (surfin') take you surfin' (surfin' safari)with me
Come along (surfin') baby wait and see (surfin' safari)
Yes I'm gonna (surfin') take you surfin' (surfin' safari)with me

MUAHAHAHA ;D ;D ;D
now do the petter-the-funniest song
Isn't it rich?
Are we a pair?
Me here at last on the ground,
You in mid-air.
Send in the clowns.
Isn't it bliss?
Don't you approve?
One who keeps tearing around,
One who can't move.
Where are the clowns?
Send in the clowns.
Just when I'd stopped opening doors,
Finally knowing the one that I wanted was yours,
Making my entrance again with my usual flair,
Sure of my lines,
No one is there.
Don't you love farce?
My fault I fear.
I thought that you'd want what I want.
Sorry, my dear.
But where are the clowns?
Quick, send in the clowns.
Don't bother, they're here.
Isn't it rich?
Isn't it queer,
Losing my timing this late
In my career?
And where are the clowns?
There ought to be clowns.
Well, maybe next year.

Chaplin only wrote the Music, if I'm not mistaken.
Right you are. :)

"Wolf bloogajig,
Wolf jigblooga wolf."
(repeat ad nauseam)
Slobkovian folk song from "Million Dollar Legs," starring my hero, W. C. Fields.
-
Are the people in Slobkovien kind? The swedish government just decided it was necessary to allow all emails, sms, and phonecalls to be monitored. I need somewhere to immigrate to.
-
Rule #1. People are not kind, except for maul, but he's practically a saint and doesn't count.
Try Paris:
"I was a free man in Paris
I felt unfettered and alive
There was nobody calling me up for favors
And no one's future to decide
You know I'd go back there tomorrow
But for the work I've taken on
Stoking the star maker machinery
Behind the popular song."
--Joni Mitchell (Goddess)
-
Yes yes, Paris seems good...
Cathedral bells were tolling
And our hearts sang on,
Was it the spell of Paris
Or the April dawn?
Who knows, if we shall meet again?
But when the morning chimes ring sweet again:
I'll be seeing you
In all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces all day through:
In that small cafe,
The park across the way,
The children's carousel,
The chestnut trees,
The wishing well.
I'll be seeing you in every lovely summer's day,
In everything that's light and gay,
I'll always think of you that way
I'll find you in the morning sun,
And when the night is new,
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll be seeing you
-
^ I love that song. Esp the Arrangement that Linda Eder sings (Frank Wildhorn rearranged it maybe? - he does everything else ::). . .) on her Broadway My Way album. Fun stuff.
-
I'll be seeing you in every lovely summer's day,
In everything that's light and gay,
I'll always think of you that way
Careful. Your government is watching you.

Careful. Your government is watching you.
I live in Slobkovien now with my little happy elf friends.
