Are you in France? Is the Sorabji Archive with you?
Update, please.
-
He is taking a vacation from hard work which includes his annual trips to his wine cellar and his meaningful lectures on piano street.
-
I think AH is moving.

Are you in France?
No, but I will be from 27 September to 14 October inclusive.
Is the Sorabji Archive with you?
Yes.
Update, please.
See further update below.

Not true.
his annual trips to his wine cellar
I do not take annual trips to a wine cellar.
his meaningful lectures on piano street.
I am not a lecturer - or at least I give lectures very rarely and only on formal invitation.

I have in fact moved already; details are below.

For those that are interested, after almost a quarter century on the east side of the English city of Bath, I have relocated The Sorabji Archive some 125km distant from there to new premises to the west of the city of Hereford; the new address is
Warlow Farm House
Eaton Bishop
HEREFORD
HR2 9QF
ENGLAND
Phone, fax, email and website details remain unchanged; our new contact details are on our website.
This is a temporary move for some 2 - 2½ years (possibly abit more, depending upon the efficiency or otherwise of French builders) while I have a new place built about 85km north east of Bordeaux, France.
During this move which commenced almost a month ago I have had to be somewhat incommunicado, as the relocation logistics were by no means simple; in addition, I have encountered major communication issues for some time in terms of lack of email, internet, phone, fax and even redirected snail mail, although all but the fax contact issue seems now to be more or less resolved.
Best,
Alistair

Looks a little remote, but if you like a bit of peace and quiet i bet it is perfect.
Only 15 miles from Hay on Wye (where i spend half of my life), so i must arrange to come and see you on my next score hunt.

You're very welcome to do so!

Is the rumor true that a portion of the Sorabji Archives space will give way to the Pixis Archives? Long overdue, I must say.

Glad to have you back, Alistair :)

Which rumour is that and how did it begin to circulate, I wonder? (I have to admit that I was previously quite unaware of it); that said, I do think that the fact of Pixis having been in the public domain for many more years than either of us has been alive would of itself render any such rumour unlikely, irrespective of its origins...
Best,

Glad to have you back, Alistair :)
Thank you, Karli!
I'll still be unable to contribute much in the way of posts to the forum in the near future, however, as I have quite a lot more to do before all is settled here at the new premises and I'll be away in France, hopefully recovering from the recent relocation experiences, from 27 September - 14 October inclusive and out of e-contact during that time.
Best,
Alistair

Untrue, but Pixis does deserve his own archive. I might even start one.

Hinton, I sent you an email regarding the purchase of a Sorabji score a few months ago and you never replied. :(
-
Perhaps he does not deal with people who take photos of themselves having a poo.
Or on the other hand if your e mail said "Hinton - I want this score" he might have deleted it.

I do not know under what name you sent your enquiry or to where you reckon to have sent it or when, but as long as we receive messages of enquiry we reply to them; for the avoidance of doubt, we are not in the habit of responding to enquiries that we do not receive. Perhaps you might care to enlighten us as to the time, date, name and source of your enquiry.
If you wish to (re?)submit your enquiry to our email address (which you must surely know and if you have any doubt about it you can get it from our website), please do so and, as long as we receive it, we will respond.
Best,
Alistair

I might well be prepared to deal with such people provided that (a) I know as little as I need to know of such of their activites as you describe here and (b) they have genuine enquiries.
Or on the other hand if your e mail said "Hinton - I want this score" he might have deleted it.
Thal
Whilst I would naturally prefer to deal with enquiries from people prepared to couch them in reasonably polite terms, if anyone did indeed write as you suggest I might yet have answered them and endeavoured to supply to them the material that they may have wanted, even if only on the understanding that (a) rude people's money is as good as polite people's ditto and (b) the material requested would be worth having irrespective of the politeness or rudeness of the enquirer.
Best,
Alistair

Welcome back Hinty. 8)
This seems to be a time for revival. ;D
Perhaps I could come back again as "ramithediv". :-X
