here are 3 compositions which i need for school. what do you think??

The fugue sounds unstable. Occasionally the harmony gets out of hand, there's little rhythmic continuity which keeps the thing going and the end is rather unsatisfying. What i liked about the end is that the harmony gets better a bit. The fugue also needs to be longer, one gets the feeling that it ends in the middle of nowhere.
The etude reminds me of video game music^^. From beginning to middle it could be out of one of the final fantasy games. It's nice actually, but kind of random. You really think it's an etude? Doesn't sound all that difficult.
You have some talent, but you need to give the music a sense of direction. currently the music is kind of floating out there and i don't know what to make of it.

i composed the fugue just to get a feel of counterpoint, maybe i need more practice.. :D i was thinking that some slight dissonance wouldn't be a harm.
for this etude i initially wanted to model it after Liszt's TE #2 (Albeit slightly easier), which is why i started with repeated chords. anyway, since it was mostly lots of chords and some quite big, i thought it would be apt to call it an etude. in this case i included some other techniques such as the arpeggios about 2/3 into the piece and a double gliss. Personally video game music didn't come into my mind cos i don't listen to them. :)

I think if you want to get a feel for counterpoint you should start with a canon or invention first before venturing into the world of fugues as they are tricky little blighters
I agree with term about the etude although i got pacman rather than Final fantasy but compositionaly I found it rather bland i think the main motif was rather weak and the structure sounds rather odd
but i would say they are good starts and could be devloped into something better

Does an etude necessarily have to be super difficult? Lots of composers wrote etudes meant for children and beginners - that's an extreme, but an etude does not have to sound like its overflowing with sheer virtuosity.

no I wouldn't say an etude had to be really hard
the Burgmiller and Heller etudes arn't that hard and are mearnt for beginners

well.. an etude doesn't have to be really hard, but in the end it's up to the composer to do what they want.
By any chance, has anyone listened to the file "PC"?

Seeing that no one has commented on the PC,
I personally think that there are some nice and some ugly moments in it. The chromatic runs from 06:40-06:50 needs to be improved on. 04:10-04:27 seem completely out of place as well. Both sections stand out like a sore thumb. From 1:12-1:30 is extremely Mozart/Haydn in Style. 02:30-03:09 is rather whimiscal and the piano does add some colourful effects. 04:28-05:00 makes some use of syncopation and countermelodies which is ok. 05:55-06:05 has a very melancholique feel. Tension built up from 07:00-07:45 is effective and provided a good pre-entry into the recap (althuogh 07:07-07:12 resembled the opening chords of Tchaikovsky B flat minor Piano Concerto). Effective use of the a minor scalic passage and repeated diminished 7ths from 08:15-08:22. I enjoyed the part from 09:33-end.
Like what the others before me said, i feel that these are good starts. What you need is some fine tuning. On the other hand I don't think you'll find anyone to play it.

Yes it's a piano concerto. It makes use of the lowest A on the keyboard
