Title: Frank Bridge - Rosemary
Post by: bertrand on January 08, 2009, 12:49:45 PM
Here is another Frank Bridge piece - "Rosemary" from his suite of 3 pieces "Three Sketches".  I first studied this for Grade 8 ABRSM in the UK, and came back to it again later because I really like it.  Webcam quality again I'm afraid for this one, but I have a better set up now so future recordings will be better.

Hi bertrand,

This is a lovely piece and your play it with a great deal of expression.  (And far fewer external distractions in the room and recording this time too!)  Good job!  I'm eager to hear your new recording setup soon.

I have the Ashley Wass CDs of Bridge's music, and very much like his composing idiom.

Wow great piece, sounds abit like Scriabin. Hadn´t heard of Frank Bridge up until now.  Thanks for sharing this. Shame on the bad recording, the video doesn´t really sync with the audio. I´d look forward to hearing it again with better recording.

edit: I watched your others too, the apple juice take is really cute  :)

I have long admired the piano music of Bridge and listen often to it. I have the three CDs by Peter Jacobs. You play it very well. However, the recording setup does not do your playing justice. Experimenting with higher recording volumes and different microphone locations should improve matters.
