So I was wondering if anyone could suggest an easier etude (obviously not easy but you get the idea) to help me practice? I haven't really any specific composers in mind....any suggestions?

Chopin Etude Opus 10 No.9

Chopin Etude Opus 10 No.9
that does not belong to the class of easier etudes
here's a list:
Mussorgsky op.72
Czerny(not the last set...i don't exactly know the opus no's)
Chopin 3 New Etudes & op.25 no.2
Heller
you have to ask others too, i've never worked on those etudes before.

etudes by Cramer?
Etudes by Czerny op. 740
I think Chopin Etude Opus 10 No.9 is a great idea, it's not so hard, or Chopin Etude Op. 25 No. 2

* Etude Op. 46 No. 1 Heller
* Etude Op. 37 No. 18 Lemoine

Rachmaninoff Etude don't seem to get much attention, his etude in D minor op33 no 4 is really good and advanced. We've all battled through the Chopin etudes, but not the Rach etudes.

Yeah I've got the book of Preludes and Etudes. I tried Etude-Tableaux in B minor but honestly i'm not there yet but I'll be sure to look at D minor. I've sterted Chopin Op. 10 No. 9 in f minor and i'm finding it okay.

Actually, they do get a lot of attention and deservedly so. But, this poster was asking for "easier etude" suggestions, and Rach's etudes are anything but easy.

I'm sorry, but it does.
