Title: moszkowski etudes question
Post by: youjean88 on June 14, 2009, 11:34:40 PM
hi, i am about to start the moszkowski etude in a few months and i wanted to know what level they would be considered using this websites criteria.  for example, the website lists chopins revolutionary, ocean, harp (dont know the op numbers off the top of my head) etudes as lvl '8'.  what would moszkowskis etudes generally range in?

thank you for your time

Op.72 would probably range from about 8 to 8+

Op.91 is a lot eaiser, perhaps Grade 5 or 6

maybe not as difficult as chopin but i'd say they are close in terms of virtuosity

i'd say its like a chopin etude with much less sentimentality and romance. but in terms of virtuosity, they are very close too, but i'd say chopin's etudes are slightly more difficult.
