thank you, kind people!

i'd like to ask about the score edition - i don't think i know this one.

i use a faximile of mussorgsky's own handwritten score, and a good urtext edition by konemann music budapest. but i added some notes and rewrote the coda of the great gate of kiev. tds

ps. here are the youtube vids (slides of photo n drawings):

HA! HA! HA!  COPYRIGHT BE DAMMED THEY ARE MINE NOW HA! HA! HA!  ;D

Thank you.  In all seriousness that was great.  I could really hear the punctual playing mixed well with a flowing and creative musicality.  Pictures is one of my favorite works and I have quite a collection of recordings from various artists yours now included. The only commentary I would have are differences in opinion on interpretation in a few various sections.  Really though I will not bore you with them as it would be pointless.

I will only talk about 'Promenade', because I cannot think of any bullshit for the rest of the movements (just kidding). Anyway, here are my two cents:

Firstly, I feel that there can be slightly more contrast between the 'single notes' and 'chordy' parts, i.e. bars 1-2 vs bars 3-4, and halfway through bar 6 etc.

Secondly, I feel that your left hand can be slightly stronger, although that could have just been the audio quality. I like your voicing though.

Thirdly, I like your dynamics! They were very well controlled and the notes were quite even from a technical perspective.

Fourthly, Mompou, what a funny name haha. I think you should add random cowbells to the piece to enhance the interest. :D

Finally, I think the last 8 bars were done really well, and I love your attacca to Gnomus. If I were teaching a student about 'control', I'd tell him to listen to the whole movement.

Overall, it is a brilliant recording and I loved it.
