Have you ever listened to Fazil Say ?

yes indeed. I've heard some of his pieces like the turkish march and paganini variations, also beethoven's apassionata 3rd movement. I like his style but sometimes he's a bit too rushed. Very entertaining.
-
His compositions aren't good, and his playing is very technically accomplished, but musically very rushed and just has a "circus-animal"-like quality to it.
-
I saw him play Mozart PC23 and was not particularly impressed although that was a while ago now.

Actually the rush you're thinking sounds in his music is because of the rich turkish melodies. There is much more inter voices in the turkish music. If you have listened a few turkish pieces you may understand indeed how deep and emotional is the music which you have described as "circus-animal"-like ... When I first listened to turkish melodies I thought exactly as you, but after some time I realised how emotional they are...

Well, I understand that, but even when he is playing standard repertoire, which doesn't have any Turkish melodies for the most part, he still plays with that same sort of style. His playing probably suits his own music, but it doesn't suit everything else.

I just bought his Beethoven recording (Waldstein, Appasionata, Tempest) and it makes me sick. He plays it so fast it's ridiculous. I'll never listen to it again.
Then I tried to watch a YouTube clip of the cadenza of Beethoven's Piano Concerto (nr 3 I think) but that was like a joke. What on earth is he doing? It's like he's so technically perfect he just wants to play as fast as he can without missing any notes.
For being so brilliant technically he must be the worst pianist on the planet.

2nd worst.
We have Lang Lang

We have Lang Lang
I'd agree with this were Lang Lang even technically brilliant.

Really?
I heard Lang Lang live a couple of years go playing Tchaikowsky's piano concerto and I can't remember he was rushing through things the way Fazil does. I also remember he played a Debussy piece as an encore and it was absolutely beautiful with a warm and well balanced sound. But I don't have any records of Lang Lang and I saw him only this one time, so maybe he's as bad as Fazil generally. Maybe he had a "bad" day that night.

this is one of the reasons why we dislike langlang...
do not enjoy this!!
&feature=related
and 3rd worst is Geza Anda!

No, can't say I enjoy that. Not really my kind of music anyway but compared to other clips Kissin's interpretetaion was also pretty awful, Emil Gilels was way better. It felt much more forceful and deep and you could hear a lot more of the interesting details.

He's kind of like Lang Lang, but differend in some ways. For example, I like Lang Lang.
