Title: Left hand technique
Post by: plastocid on September 17, 2009, 06:56:18 AM
Hello.

I'm an intermediate player mainly interested in learning solo improvisation in the styles of blues/jazz/funk. My most acute concern is my poor left hand technique, so I wonder if anyone could recommend a book that deals with this in the type of music I'm interested in?

Bach is excellent for your left hand. I doubt though that its anywhere near the music youre interested in ;)

Well Czerny wrote a book of studies for the left hand which I recommend:

For more popular music I can't really say. I did buy a book called Blues Hanon, but it's pretty elementary.
